Two fire engines were called out to a minor blaze at vandal-hit Farnley Sports and Social Club yesterday evening.
Residents reckon it’s at least the SIXTH time West Yorkshire Fire Service has been called out to the derelict Butt Lane club since it closed last December.
West Leeds Dispatch yesterday featured residents’ concerns that a planning row between developers wanting to build houses on the developed green belt site and Leeds City Council planners was holding up the demolition of the eyesore building, which has become a regular target for vandals and anti-social behaviour.
West Yorkshire Fire Service wasn’t immediately avalable for comment.
