Woman in critical condition following Whitehall Road collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following an accident which left a female pedestrian in a critical condition.

At about 5.20pm yesterday (Thursday, March 21) the 22-year-old was knocked over by a blue Ford Kuga on the A58 Whitehall Road, between Ring Road and Branch Road, near Wortley.

She received serious injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital.

The car was travelling away from Leeds city centre at the time of the collision.

The driver stopped at the scene and has been spoken to by officers.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle or the pedestrian prior to the collision. They are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was driving in the area and has any relevant dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Yorkshire Police Roads Policing Unit via 101 quoting reference 13190147912.

There’s the hosting of the website you’re reading now, running our popular e-mail newsletter, membership of independent press regulator Impress, attending summer events, paying for equipment etc etc.
