West Leeds RUFC close gap on league leaders

West Leeds 1st team had a convincing 8-41 bonus point win at struggling Selby, closing the gap on leaders Bridlington who suffered a shock defeat at York, writes Glenn Broadbent.

West Leeds travel to Keighley next Saturday in what is sure to be a hard’fought game between last season’s promoted teams.

Meanwhile West Leeds 2nd XV scraped home in the dying seconds of their merit table game to secure a 24-21 victory in a game which lacked cohesion and showed only a few flashes of entertainment.

West Leeds players and officials who witnessed the injury to the Selby player at Bluehill Lane wish him a speedy recovery and hope his hospital visit was short.

Kind regards,
