Popular plants nursery Palmer Plants has applied for planning permission to build a new centre on its Calverley Lane site.
For over 35 years Palmer Plants have been growing their own trees and shrubs for sale to the public. The proposed new plant centre building will provide a formal retail space, cafe, reception, children’s play area and WC facilities.
The new car park will increase parking capacity on site in addition to providing accessible parking and electric vehicle charging facilities.
The proposal will also provide office space for the landscaping side of the business (Palmer’s Landscapes) which is currently located off-site. A design statement submitted to Leeds City Council with the planning application said:
“The proposed new plant centre will provide a much needed improvement on the existing facilities and will become the new focal point of the nursery.
“The proposed development and its new facilities will also provide a valuable amenity for the local community.”
