West Leeds: Meeting discusses plans to save Tong Valley and Fulneck green belt

A campaign group fighting the possibility of large-scale housing development on green belt land between West Leeds and Bradford are discussing future strategy tonight.

The Save Tong and Fulneck Valley Group meet tonight (Wednesday, 12 July) at 7pm in Tong School Room for a trustees meeting and are inviting everyone along to have their say.

A spokesperson said:

“We have a common conviction that such development would permanently destroy valuable countryside, and adversely affect local communities and their environment.

“If you are keen to get more involved please come along, we really need more help and support for our ‘working party’ group of volunteers.”

The group was been established after Bradford Council said they were considering the development of around 2700 houses being built in the Tong and Fulneck Valley.
