The new rugby union season starts on Saturday, with West Leeds travelling to Bradford Salem in the opening round of Counties One Yorkshire league.
West Leeds will be hoping to carry their end of season form, that saw them reach the semi final of the Papa Johns Community Cup North Shield, into the new season and start on a positive note by getting a result against familiar opponents Bradford Salem.
Kicking off at 3pm down at Shay Lane, the opening clash of the season promises to be a physical affair with both sides looking to dominate upfront and get early points on the league table.
West Leeds then welcome league newcomers Pocklington to Blue Hill Lane the following week for the first home game of the season.
With the two sides having not played each other in recent years, it promises to be a game of unknowns, with both teams keen to lay down an early season marker.
Why not come down and watch some hard-fought rugby and visit West Leeds’ newly refurbished club house, offering a friendly atmosphere and great drink prices.
See you down the lane?
