Video: When Tomorrow’s World visited Pudsey for fish and microchips

Cast yourself back to 1987 and a Pudsey fish and chip shop appeared on national television for using the “first-ever computer-controlled fish fryer”.

BBC TV’s Tomorrow’s World visited Greenside Fisheries in Pudsey to see how a local chippy was using technology to get the perfect fish and chips. This was first broadcast on 9 November 1987.

Presenter Howard Stableford went to Pudsey and spoke to the chippy’s owner Trevor.

The BBC have today released archival footage of the event, which can be viewed in Full here;

The clip will bring back fond memories of this popular fish and chip shop!
