Christine Patricia Rayner  1944-2020

Christine was born in Armley and in her words “always had a soft spot for it”. On our Facebook group Cats of Armley, Christine was such a support to those with missing animals and was so helpful and kind, as well as having an amazing ability to match up lost cats and reunite them with their owners.

Christine asked that we remember her by donating to a local rescue or sprinkling some wildflower seeds.

Her family and friends continue to be in our thoughts and we all miss her very much.

Alan Jackson 1948- 2020

Alan Jackson.

Alan was a quiet and private man, but well-known around Armley for his kindness and community spirit.

He was seen voluntarily collecting rubbish and litter picking on Armley Moor and Town Street on a daily basis – always taking pride in his community and environment around him.

Alan will always be remembered as plans are in place for a bench in his memory near his home in Sir Karl Cohen Square, with a plaque bearing his name as the ‘Unsung Hero of Armley’.

Our thoughts continue to be with Alan’s family and friends, and sir we salute you.
