Team Kirkstall: Riverbank clean-up continues near Armley Mills

A riverbank clean-up will target the banks of the River Aire which suffer from anti-social behaviour near Armley Mills.

The regular Team Kirkstall riverside clean-ups, set up following the 2015 Boxing Day floods will see volunteers meet at the Canal Road car park at 10am tomorrow (Saturday, July 14) to work on the stretch by the woods near armley mills museum

Clean-up organisers Team Kirkstall say the area is:

“… still decked out to the gunnels with flytipping, anti-social waste (including some sharps) and litter.

“This is going to be a messy one so please wear strong footwear and long sleeves. Everything else will be provided, but good boots or wellies is essential.

“We will be working until 2pm and then we’re taking everybody for lunch afterwards – please join us as it’s a great way to end a good day and say thank you to everybody who has pitched in and given up their time to work hard cleaning up the river and its banks.”
