Swallow Hill students raise hundreds for Macmillan

Students at Swallow Hill Community College raised £588 at coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The annual event was well-supported by students, who helped provide cakes, buns and biscuits.

Pat Doherty, lead teacher for citizenship/resilience, said:

“One of our cakes was made especially to be raffled and the member of staff who won that cake donated it to homeless hostel, Bracken House, to which our students frequently donate toiletries.”

The coffee morning was attended by Gudrun Shemilt and Jackie Frith, Chair and Secretary of the All Together Armley community group.

Swallow Hill last week held a successful open evening for parents of prospective new pupils.
