Stanningley: Function room plans for historic building

Plans to alter a Stanningley building, part of which dates back more than 160 years, have been submitted to Leeds City Council.

Tarnya Pearson, who runs Peg’s Cafe and Bar, has submitted plans to change of first floor store to a function room for weddings and parties, and the retention of a cafe/bar on ground floor.

The Richardshaw Lane property consists of a pair of cottages dating back to around 1850, a former shop dating back to 1900 and a former warehous edating back to circa 1930.

The property was a former antiques shop and, until 2014, was The Arch Restaurant.

A plannign statement submitted by Gillam Wood Architecture Design says the proposed development would be of high quality, provide additional jobs and help secure the future of the business.
