Community volunteers in Farsley are again offering an environmentally friendly collection service to people living in the LS13 and LS28 wishing to dispose of their real Christmas tree.
Operating on Saturday, 7 January 2023, the collection is run by Love Farsley, with profits from the £8 fee supporting some of the groups that make up FCI, including Farsley Festival and Farsley Community Orchard.
Collected real trees are turned into a versatile mulch which is sold the following year via the Farsley Festival online shop.
Only 200 slots are available, with more than half already taken.
Volunteer limitations mean that only collections within the LS13 and LS28 postcode areas can be accepted – Farsley, Rodley, Pudsey, Calverley and nearby.
Organisers are always looking for extra hands and wheels. People who can offer help can email lovefarsley@gmail.com.
