Review: Old Boilers at Farsley Community Church

By Susan Johnson

On 12 July at Farsley Community Church the Splinter Theatre Company presented their latest comedy by Adrian Cole, “Old Boilers.”

The setting was a Blackpool guest house, a perfect place for four mature ladies to get away from it all and enjoy a Divorce Hen party. What could go wrong? Almost everything!

With strong performances from all the cast, and well directed by Tim Goddard and assistant director Jean Wilson, this comedy never failed to amuse.

For a ticket price of £6 we were all seated at tables with typical holiday treats, lollipops, sherbets and crisps, followed by tea, coffee and biscuits in the interval. Along with an excellent raffle we felt that Blackpool was a perfect place to get away from it all and have some fun.

Well done the Splinter Theatre Group, our local amateur dramatic company.
