A series of road surfacing improvements in Stanningley, Bramley and Pudsey begin tonight (October 30).
The works begin tonight at the A647 roundabout on Stanningley Road, at the junction with the A657 Lower Town Street/Henconner Lane.
Work will be carried nightly out from 7pm to midnight until the expected completion on Friday 3 November. Road closures and diversions will be in place while the work is undertaken.
From Friday 3 November work will also start in Pudsey at Lidget Hill, Church Lane and Lowtown. Taking place from 7pm to midnight on Monday to Friday and on Sundays as required, phased road closures and diversions will be in place with the work scheduled to be finished by November 24.
A council spokesperson said:
“All efforts will be made to carry out the works as quickly and efficiently as possible with the least possible inconvenience.”
As reported by The Dispatch last week, long-delayed work to improve road safety at Stanningley Bottom was due to start today following concerns over the safety of part of the multi-million pound cycle superhighway.
Contractor’s working hours will be Monday to Wednesday, from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and temporary two-way signals will be in place in the Bradford Road and Town Street area of Stanningley for around two weeks.
The road will be closed completely between 8am to 6pm on Sunday 5th, 12th and 19th November.
