A warm new social initiative for veterans and the Armed Forces community is launching in Pudsey next month.
From 10am on Saturday 7 March 2026, Hutton Manor Care Home will open the doors to a monthly Veterans Café in partnership with the Pudsey & Farsley Royal British Legion Branch.
The café will take place on the first Saturday of every month, offering a relaxed and friendly space for veterans to connect over tea, coffee and conversation.
The idea stems from the strong relationship already built between the care home and the local Royal British Legion through previous coffee mornings. According to organisers, these informal gatherings proved just how valuable it is for veterans to have a dedicated space where they can share stories, enjoy companionship and meet people who understand their experiences.
Hutton Manor is proudly recognised as a Veteran Friendly care home under the national Veteran Friendly Framework, reflecting its commitment to supporting veterans and ensuring they feel respected and valued within the community.
The Veterans Café will be open to veterans, serving personnel, family members and anyone from the Armed Forces community who would like a friendly place to meet up.
Volunteers from the Royal British Legion will be in attendance at each session, offering support, information about local services and a chance to socialise with others who share a connection through service.
Emma Muirhead, Head of Activities at Hutton Manor, said: “The staff and residents at Hutton Manor would like to extend a very warm welcome to veterans and members of the Armed Forces community.
“We are proud to be a Veteran Friendly care home and are really looking forward to opening our doors for this new monthly café. There will be free refreshments, friendly faces and plenty of conversation.”

The first Veterans Café gets under way at Hutton Manor Care Home, Crawshaw Road, Pudsey, on 7 March, 10am until 12pm, with sessions continuing on the first Saturday of each month thereafter.
