Work to replace ageing gas mains will take place on a busy road in Pudsey during the Easter holidays.
The works be taking place from 11 April 2022 to an estimated end date of 20 April and will be taking place along Bradford Road, between the junctions with Peckover Drive and Grange Avenue.
To allow the works to take place safely, highways engineers will be reducing Bradford Road on the west bound side towards Bradford, down to one lane. A council spokesperson said:
“To minimise disruption, and avoid the Armley Gyratory closure, the works are planned during the Easter school holidays and Northern Gas Networks will be working extended hours, 7 days per week to complete the works as soon as possible
“However, there will be unavoidable delays, we will closely monitor the works to ensure this is kept to a minimum, with a view to making changes as the work progresses if the situation can be improved.”
Advanced signs are being placed out on site to warn motorists of the works and Northern Gas Networks will letter drop residents and local businesses.
As previously reported, the busy Armley Gyratory will be fully closed to all vehicles from 8pm on Friday, 8 April until 5.30am on Monday, 11 April.
