Pudsey Community Project nets £20,000 boost from company’s fundraiser

Pudsey-based company G&H has raised £40,950 for its 2025 charities of the year – Pudsey Community Project and Dementia UK.

A charity championship, which saw staff and suppliers compete in darts, shuffleboard, table tennis and table football, contributed £33,000 alone. Other fundraising activities included a £50 money-multiplier challenge, sponsored walks, and G&H’s annual Christmas jumper day.

The money raised will be split between Pudsey Community Project and Dementia UK, with each receiving £20,475.

Pudsey Community Project provides a wide range of support for the disadvantaged and vulnerable in the local area, including a food bank, sustainable food initiatives, seniors’ lunch club, free children’s clothing, youth and children’s sessions, and a repair cafe.

Dementia UK delivers vital care and support to families affected by dementia through its Admiral Nurse service.

Richard Dimery, CEO of Pudsey Community Project said: “Pudsey Community Project is a local charity helping the whole community to thrive, especially those most vulnerable and disadvantaged. To enable that work we rely on grants and public donations, so we are beyond thrilled to have been G&H’s 2025 Charity of the Year.

“The funding they have raised will help make us sustainable throughout the year to come, enabling us especially to continue our widespread food provision both for those in crisis and building resilience, supporting up to 500 local people each week with food and signposting help.”

Lucy Byrne, philanthropy and partnerships executive at Dementia UK, said: “On behalf of everyone at Dementia UK, including our specialist dementia Admiral Nurses and the nearly one million people living with dementia, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to every G&H employee who has supported us over the past year.

“With dementia now the leading cause of death in the UK, many families are still in urgent need of our help and thanks to G&H we’re able to be there when it matters most.”

Graham Kelly, chairman at G&H, said: “I’m incredibly proud of the whole team. The enthusiasm of our people to embrace every fundraising challenge and the generosity of our suppliers, helped us exceed our £40,000 target.

The donations will make a difference for the disadvantaged and vulnerable in our community, and those affected by dementia.”

Founded in 1998, G&H is a leading mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) provider. Its 200-strong team designs, manages, delivers, and maintains every aspect of MEP schemes across the UK.
