Pudsey’s Christmas lights switch-on promises to be bigger and better this year, with an impressive 1.4km of lights around the town.
The big switch-on has moved from behind the leisure centre and onto Lowtown, with events starting at 3pm and running to 7pm on Sunday, December 2. The big switch on will be at 6pm by an old favourite – TV’s Dusty Bin!
120 small Christmas trees have been fitted to businesses across the town centre.
The big switch on event inbcludes l ive music from the top of Lowtown, with craft stalls and a funfair on Manor House Street.
There will also be a Santa’s Grotto in Pudsey House and the Rotary Club’s craft fair in the Leisure Centre.
And there will be the Pudsey Yorkshire Produce and Crafts Market in Pudsey market from 9am till 1pm.
Road closures
Lowtown will be closed from 12noon this Sunday for the Christmas lights Switch On and reopens at 9pm.
Residents and business owners are being asked to ensure the road is clear of vehicles at the start of the closure.
Bus services that normally run up/down Lowtown will be diverted along Kent Road, Valley Road and Robin Lane. The bus station and all car parks will be open as normal.
Will the 91 bus be running up Richardshaw Lane as normal in to the Bus Station???
