Priesthorpe School friends’ charity walk in memory of pal

A group of old school pals are set to walk 20 miles around the Pudsey boundary in memory of their friend who died of an undiagnosed heart condition last year.

Former Priesthorpe School pupil Chris Harris died suddenly last October at the age of just 51.

Former school friends Louise Roberts, John Spear, Paul Stockwell, Jo Cherky Cherkaoui, Craig King, Lesley King, Tim Sutton, Richard Dawson are Linda Beattie are going to be walking the Pudsey Round Walk to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and aim to raise over £1,000.

On their JustGiving page, they say:

“We’ve known Chris for over 40 years, and we did this walk when we were at school together – it seems fitting that this is the walk we’ve chosen to do in his honour now.

“Chris’ parents, Val and Don wanted to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, and for that reason we’d like people to sponsor us so that we can make a donation, in Chris’S name, to the British Heart Foundation to fund research that can reduce the possibility of a tragic death at such a young age happening to other people’s friends and family.”

The crowdfunding page can be found here.
