Police target nuisance quad bikers in Calverley

The drivers of a large quad-bike and three off-road motorbikers “scattered” at the sight of police in Calverley.

Officers from the Leeds District Off-Road Bike Team were patrolling Calverley Woods and the Bunny Fields, both just behind Crowther Avenue, over the Easter weekend.

Police had received reports recently of “nuisance vehicles” in those areas.

Officers saw a large quad-bike and three off-road motorbikes entering the Bunny Fields at around 3pm. A police spokesperson said:

“On seeing officers the vehicles/riders scattered, failing to stop for police.

“Regular patrols will continue to take place in the area.”
