Proposals for a new outdoor children’s play area have been submitted at Cardigan Fields Leisure Park off Kirkstall Road, Burley.
Real estate management company X-Leisure Leeds has submitted a planning application for the new play park for kids aged up to six years old.
The forest-themed park, which would be surrounded by a fence, would sit on land between Frankie and Benny’s restaurant and the Bridgewater Arms Public House.
Nine pieces of equipment include a double tower with spider net, suspension bridge and lake boat. A supporting letter submitted to planners by agent Richard Irving adds:
“The play area would not obstruct the pedestrian walkway in a way that would be unacceptable and still provides access to the bridge that crosses the River Aire to access the Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mills.
“The play area would provide outdoor space for children to play in that is adjacent to two existing family restaurants.”
The plans can be viewed in full – and commented upon – here.
Kirkstall Bridge cafe plans
An application to turn a converted shipping container into a ‘Pod of Tea’ cafe at the Kirkstall Bridge Shopping Park has been submitted.
The container cafe would be sited at the edge of the car park, according to proposals submitted by Metric Property (Kirkstall) Ltd.
