A Farsley nursery has received praise from Ofsted inspectors.
Little People Farfield, which is based at Farsley Farfield Primary School, in Cote Lane, has been rated as ‘good’ for its quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
The report marks a turnaround since Ofsted’s last inspection in June 2023, when owners were told it required improvement, despite their concerns that the report didn’t properly reflect the organisation.
After their visit last month, inspectors wrote: “Children are happy and settled in this calm and nurturing nursery. Staff have children’s best interests at heart and continually ensure their safety and well-being.”
There was praise for pupils’ high levels of engagement, effective safeguarding and positive attitudes to their learning and staff support for pupils.
The report added: “Leaders and staff have worked hard to develop an ambitious curriculum to promote children’s good learning and development. However, this is still being embedded into staff’s practice, and there are some inconsistencies in how staff put into place and sequence the new curriculum. “
Children with Special Educational Needs (SEND) achieve well and continue to meet their next steps in learning, and the report adds that leaders ensure that staff are suitable through robust recruitment procedures.
