Bargain retailer B&M has confirmed it is set to open another store in Pudsey, creating 55 jobs.
The discount retailer has taken over part of the Marks and Spencer store at the Owlcotes Centre and is due to open its doors for the first time at 9am on Thursday 29th March.
In November the company had denied it was looking at the Owlcotes site as a new store.
Customers will find a wide variety of branded products including toys, food & drink, pet range, health & beauty and homewares at the new store. B&M already has a store in Pudsey town centre (pictured above).
A spokesperson from B&M said:
“We’re feeling really positive about the creation of even more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in a few weeks.”
Job roles are advertised on the B&M careers website and range from sales assistant, to floor managers and cleaners.
Updated 5.30pm: A B&M spokeswoman reiterated the company’s commitment to maintaining the Church Lane store in Pudsey, alongside the new store. She told The Dispatch:
“There are no plans to close the current store on Church Lane.”
