An appeal to raise much-needed money for the family of a seriously injured West Leeds rugby player has been launched.
West Leeds RLFC player Nathan Telford suffered a fractured skull and cheekbone and may need surgery following last week’s derby game against Bramley Buffaloes.
A crowdfunding campaign to support him has now been launched.
Organiser Jenny Smith said:
“He is currently in a lot of pain and will not be able to provide for his young family at this time. He was also due to fly to Disneyland with his family in two weeks.”
West Leeds ARLFC are also looking to host a charity night in order to raise funds for Mr Telford and his family. Ms Smith added:
“If anyone has any contacts in the Rugby League family to donate some memorabilia that we can auction off or any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated.”
Donations are welcome at the crowdfunding page here.
Correction: This article was updated to clarify Mr Telford plays for West Leeds RLFC, not Bramley Buffaloes as first stated.
Nathan Telford is a west Leeds player not Bramley Buffaloes. He was injured in the game between the two sides. Thank you for sharing this though – all donations welcome thank you!!!
Hi Jenny, Many apologies for the confusion, our mistake entirely. I’ve corrected the article. Good luck with the appeal!
