Abbey Road was shut this teatime following an accident which left one car flipped on its side and a woman taken to hospital.
The incident took place near to Kirkstall Abbey just after 4pm and police are warning of slow traffic in the area.
A police spokesperson said in a statement:
“We were called at 4.09pm to reports of Nissan car on its side in a road traffic collision. The Leeds-bound carriageway has been blocked and traffic has been diverted. One female has been taken to hospital.”

Eyewitnesses claim the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and up to ten other ambulances were in attendance.
West Yorkshire Fire Service say three fire teams are attending from Cookridge, Cleckheaton and Stanningley.
