Kirkstall Road creative centre launches programme for emerging artists

Bosses at a Kirkstall Road creative centre are providing guidance and resources to help the development of new artists and help them express themselves creatively.

Kirkstall Road-based Open Source Arts are launching the programme in mid-March.

Over the course of three months, the individuals or collectives will receive access to the diverse facilities at the centre, mentoring from experts on the staff team at Open Source and opportunities to perform and exhibit work in professional and industry populated events.

Jacob Justice, events programmer at Open Source, said:

“As a practitioner myself, I know how important resources and guidance are in helping artistic expression to flourish. We’re all very excited to meet new artists and see their work develop and grow over the course of the programme.”

Open Source will be holding a Programme Design Brunch on 15th February, at 11am, where members of the public are invited to share their suggestions and input on the project in an open forum.

More information about this can be found on the Open Source Calendar.
