Burley: Police seek car driver who hit woman

Police are appealing for a driver involved in road traffic collision in Burley to contact them. 

At about 11pm on Saturday, August 27, a 47-year-old woman was walking down Cardigan Road, towards Kirkstall Road.

As she crossed Alexandra Road, just before the BP garage on Cardigan Road, she was was hit by the driver of a small red or white vehicle and was knocked to the ground. 

She received bruising to her side and back. 

PC Sarah Miller, of the Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team (East) said:

“It is believed the driver stopped at the time to help the woman. She does not speak any English and he failed to leave his details. The woman made her way home and an ambulance attended and took her to hospital for treatment. 

“We would like to speak to the driver about the circumstances and would ask them or anyone who can assist in identifying them to contact us.

“We would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or the circumstances leading up to it.”
