A few former runners are set to re-start a group to help people in and around Pudsey, either to get back into running or to enjoy the many benefits of walking following lockdown.
The Pudsey Walkers will be meeting up in organised groups of six from 30th March and hope to increase the group sizes as Covid restrictions allow. A spokesperson said:
“It’s an adults-only club – giving us that very much-needed ‘me time’. We walk approx three miles, some walk faster than others but we always re-group and never leave anyone on their own.”
They meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6.15pm at Pudsey Bowling, Running & Table Tennis Club. Please e-mail enquiries@pudseyrunners.co.uk to book a place as numbers are limited.
Walking improves weight management, chronic disease prevention and improved cardio health – but a rapidly growing body of evidence documents how walking regularly, has been shown to strengthen mental and emotional health in addition to physical health.
Pudsey Runners and Walkers are a thriving and friendly club based at Pudsey Bowling, Running and Table Tennis Club, where they promote running and walking for fun and fitness in a safe and supportive environment.
