Christmas is an expensive time, and with the cost of living crisis, this year people are struggling more than ever.
So when a local community centre decides to host Christmas dinner, grateful residents plan to attend… not everyone is happy about it though. Meanwhile… disaster strikes when the delivery van breaks down.
Community Christmas is a seasonal performance by the Invisible Pain Theatre Company on Sunday, 18 December at Swinnow Community Centre 1pm-4pm.
There will also be stalls with gifts, hot jacket potatoes and chilli and mulled wine, as well as games like ‘higher or lower’ and tombola.
The performance will be at 2pm and last approximately 30 minutes so there will be plenty of time to get back for the World Cup kick off!
IPTC director Gerica Mcmullen says: “We want to produce something that is entertaining but at the same time, highlight how much people are struggling right now to put food on the table, petrol in the car and keep warm. Our community centres are a lifeline and do some wonderful work. We wanted to pay homage to that also. “
Tickets are a £1 on the door and it’s free for under fives.
