Kirkstall-based environment centre, The Conservation Volunteers Hollybush is putting out a call for helpers this New Year.
There are trees to plant, footpaths to build, gardens to prepare for spring and learners to support with craft, woodwork, gardening and cookery.
Short courses in woodwork, bushcraft and gardening start mid-January.
Centre manager John Preston said:
“We have opportunities throughout the week and welcome people with a single day to spare and those who may wish to give us a regular day most weeks.”
Hollybush is also looking for new voluntary officers who are looking for experience in the conservation or social care sectors for two to three days a week for around six months.
Voluntary officers help run practical projects, Green Gyms or support group members on the c’s Learning Disability project.
In return The Conservation Volunteers provides a comprehensive training package and expenses.
Details of activities at The Conservation Volunteers can be found on the Hollybush website, or telephone the Centre on 0113 274 2335.
There is a taster day on 13th January.
