Look out for Santa and his sleigh on your street and help Farsley Community Project to raise donations for the food bank in Pudsey.
The Food Drive, which is now in its fourth year, will set off from Sunny Bank Mills in the heart of Farsley and take a familiar route around our streets between 5.30pm and 8pm on Thursday, 12 December.
Expect to see Santa on his magical light up sleigh followed by a procession of festively dressed local volunteers. The Food Drive hopes to spread some Christmas joy whilst collecting supplies for the food bank from local residents from their doorsteps.
This year volunteers aim to delight onlookers with a parade of willow lanterns and headdresses, all of which were created by the community during the Farsley Lantern Festival at Farsley Christmas lights switch on last week.
The parade will again be joined by members of Farsley Celtic Supporters’ Club and their minibus will be joining the parade to help transport donations.
The collection will be raising money and donations for Pudsey Community Project, a local charitable organisation started from Pudsey Parish Church to provide community and poverty resources covering 20,000 households in Pudsey and its immediately surrounding areas.
People can donate packaged food and items on the night from your doorstep, simply hand them to our volunteers as we pass!
If you’d like to volunteer for the Food Drive you can sign up to walk in the procession on Grumpy’s website.
