A volunteer day is being held to tidy Burley Park ahead of winter – and members of the community are being urged to attend.
The Friends of Burley Park group are running t he event on Sunday, 8 October from 10am to 12pm – and there’s lots on the agenda, including:
- Trim the Lavender hedges
- Tidy up grass edges around flower beds
- Cut back hedges
- Raking and recycling wildflowers in our Orchards
- And, if there are enough helping hands, planting lovely ferns amongst the flowering shrubs down by the depot.
A spokesperson said: “We would love all to join us to help keep our green space looking great! So if you’re looking for a way to spend time outdoors with this bright Sunday coming up, please do come along and support if you can.”
Attendees should bring any gardening/protective gloves and forks, hand shears or trowels if you have them.
