Volunteers are being invited to help restore the orchard in Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve.
The Orchard Project is all about helping local people create, restore and access orchards – to enjoy and use for good in their own communities.
They’re inviting local people to the secluded Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve to learn restorative pruning of apple and pear trees with horticulturalist Alan Thornton.
From the session attendees will understand more about the theory and practice of winter pruning and meet some new people.
The event runs on Tuesday, 7 March 2017 from 10am-1pm.
An optional £3.50 cost covers the cost a copy of the pruning guide “for real people with imperfect trees”.
