A community trust which aims to improve life in the Kirkstall valley is looking for people to take it to the next level.
Kirkstall Valley Development Trust (KVDT) is on the lookout for a new chair and board members to help it develop.
A spokesperson said:
“It’s been an amazing four years. From a standing start we have
– Created a strong community network around Unit 11
– Started a farm
– Pushed forward with our plans for Abbey and St Anns mills
– Developed our strategy for achieving a healthy and happy community in the valley“…but change is afoot. Two Board members are transforming into staff members and the Development Director, Chris Hill, is moving on. We need new people to take us to the next stage from March ’21. The opportunities are there and the Trust is financially healthy.
“We are looking for people who have a knowledge and enthusiasm to better the position of the valley communities and have the skills to guide the work of the Trust.”
“You won’t be dumped on. There will be time to see whether this is for you, and be supported in your new role. Please don’t leave it to someone else.”
Last week KVDT launched its ‘20-25 Kirkstall Valley Sustainability Strategy and began discussing how to tackle the zero-carbon challenge in the valley. Read WLD’s report here.
