A lifeline free bus service linking Farnley, Wortley and Armley with Leeds City Centre will run again on New Year’s Day.
Run by volunteers from Farnley and Wortley Green Party, the popular service will run hourly through the day.
It starts from Armley Town Street via the number 15 route to Greenthorpe Road, then via Henconner Lane, Butt Lane, Cross Lane, Butterbowl Drive to the Butterbowl Pub.
It then goes via the number 42 route to Five Lane Ends, then via Greenhill Lane to the Leysholmes, Five Lane Ends then via number 42 route to City Square. First bus starts at 8.30am and runs until 5.30pm.
Return journeys start at the bus stop opposite The Majestyk on Wellington Street, opposite the Majestic from 9am until 5pm.
The minibus will service all bus stops along the route.
Cllr Ann Blackburn (Green, Farnley & Wortley) said:
“It has to be remembered not everyone has transport of their own, yet some people still need transport on New Year’s Day due to work or need to visit elderly relatives or people in hospital.”
