Green light for new Stanningley RL changing rooms

Stanningley Rugby League Club will be boosted by the addition of two new changing rooms after council planners gave the green light this week.

Stanningley Sports And Amateur Rugby League Club, based at the Arthur Miller Stadium in Coal Hill Drive, Rodley, applied to Leeds City Council for permission to build a single storey side extension to existing facilities on site. The extension will house two additional changing rooms.

A planning officer’s report app[rioving the application said: “The changing rooms are largely screened from public view given the difference in land levels from the main entrance of the ground. They are visible only from within an area close to the existing the rugby pitch. As such, any impact on the character of the area is negligible.

“Similarly, even though there are residential properties within the immediate vicinity of the proposal, it is considered unlikely to introduce any additional impact in terms of noise.”

The club said existing car park spaces would cater for there facilities and that the flat-roofed extension would not look out of place with the surrounding area.
