‘Go purple!’ Community clean-ups earmarked for Farnley and Wortley

A community-led campaign which is taking positive action to tackle the scourge of littering in Leeds is aiming to turn parts of Farnley and Wortley into a sea of purple.

There community clean-ups follow the success of the Litter Free Leeds movement, which has seen volunteers, businesses and organisations join forces to remove tonnes of rubbish and waste from communities across the city.

Volunteers will be out in significant numbers on their streets and local green spaces armed with litter grabbers and purple bags, highlighting the importance of individuals and communities taking responsibility for keeping their local areas clean, tidy and litter free.

The clean ups include events starting at the Butterbowl Pub in Farnley, The Golden Fleece in Wortley and Matalan car park.
