Generous Pudsey youngster set for biggest Children in Need fundraiser

A Pudsey youngster is hoping to make his biggest splash ever in his annual swimming challenge for Children In Need.

Aaryan Mitra, aged nine, attends Park Spring Primary School in Swinnow and has raised hundreds of pounds for the charity over the past couple of years, thanks to his swimming exploits.

In 2024 Aaryan swam one mile, while last year he managed ten miles. This year he’s swimming the full distance from Pudsey in Leeds to Salford – 45 miles – in one week, which is 414 lengths every single day.

Aaryan, who only started swimming in 2023, said: “For the past two years I’ve been raising money for BBC Children in Need, because they help children like me children who feel different, children who just need a chance to shine.

“I want to show the world that neurodiverse children can achieve incredible things when people believe in them. This year, I’m taking on my biggest challenge ever.

“If you can donate, even a tiny bit, it would mean the world to me.”
