Farsley volunteers run annual Christmas tree collection

By John Baron

A group of West Leeds volunteers are doing their bit for the environment – and raising funds to help run a popular community event at the same time.

Volunteers from the Love Farsley group are encouraging householders to recycle their real Christmas tree and help fund Farsley Festival 2026.

Every penny from the annual tree collection goes towards paying for the acts and activities.

Collections are happening on Saturday, 3 January 2026. Book your slot before Thursday, 1 January, 5pm, to avoid missing out.

A spokesperson said: “Due to our logistics, we only have capacity to pick up from Farsley and neighbouring areas (LS28 and LS13 postcodes).”

Cost is £10 plus an optional £5 or £10 donation.
