Farsley volunteers run annual Christmas tree collection service in LS28 and LS13

Volunteers in Farsley are again offering an environmentally friendly collection service to people living in the LS13 and LS28 wishing to dispose of their real Christmas tree.

Operating on Saturday, 7 January 2023, the collection is run by Love Farsley, with profits from the £9-£19 fee supporting some of the groups that make up FCI, including Farsley Festival and Farsley Community Orchard.

Collected real trees are turned into a versatile mulch which is sold the following year via the Farsley Festival online shop.

A limited number of slots are still available.

A spokesperson said: “Due to our logistics, we only have capacity to pick up from Farsley and neighbouring area – Farsley, Rodley, Pudsey, Calverley and nearby.

“Please only order for collection within LS28 and LS13 to avoid cancellation. Please let us know if your tree is large so we can make sure allocate a vehicle to suit.”

Organisers are always looking for extra hands and wheels. People who can offer help should e-mail lovefarsley@gmail.com.

The collection runs 5pm Friday 3 January until 5pm on Saturday 4 January 2025.
