Farsley: Plans to demolish funeral directors and The Manor for housing

A drinking establishment and a funeral directors could be demolished to make way for five houses in Farsley.

Plans have been submitted to demolish The Manor function suite and the nearby Chapel Of Rest on the green belt site off Stony Royd.

Applicant Jayne Verity wants to build the four-bedroomed detached homes with garages in their place.

A planning statement submitted by Barrett and Barrett architects said:

“In our opinion, the new build sustainable low energy dwellings as proposed, would have no greater impact on the openness of the Green Belt, would be respectful of the scale, mass, materials and siting of the adjacent properties.

“The proposals will also have no adverse effects on the streetscape, neighbouring properties or their amenities and also have a reduced impact on the local highway safety.”

  1. Yet another development which will have an impact on the environment and road infrastructure. Only 5 dwellings proposed but this is one of many in the local area.
