Farsley Celtic will be looking to make it two wins out of two on Saturday when Lancashire side Chorley make the trip to West Yorkshire.
It’s the first competitive match at The Citadel since Farsley defeated Gloucester City 2-1 back in April to earn a massive three points which elevated the Celts out of the relegation zone.
The new-look Celts will be looking to continue a promising start to the new season, after defeating newcomers Rushall Olympic 2-0 on the opening day at Dales Lane thanks to goals from debutants Ben Atkinson and Darren Stephenson.
Clayton Donaldson’s side played some tidy football in the first outing of the season, showing a gradual improvement since the first pre-season match away at Brighouse Town which ended in a 1-1 draw.
The Celts are in a period of transition, bringing in around 16 new players during the summer, a new management team and playing style.
Saturday’s visitors Chorley were involved in a 1-1 draw with recent play-off finalists Brackley Town on the opening day, and they will be looking to earn their first three points of the season when they visit Farsley this weekend.
The two occasions in which the two sides met each other last season threw up opposite results, with the first clash in Ocotber at Victory Park ending in a 4-3 victory for the hosts. where current Chorley player Carlton Ubaezuonu scored a brace for the Celts.
The clash at The Citadel however was not as exciting as the sides played out a 0-0 draw in February.
TEAM NEWS
The Celts still have a number of injuries plaguing the squad, with players such as Lewis Turner, Isaac Assenso and Clayton Donaldson still out for Saturday’s game.
