Council chiefs have signed off a crucial legal agreement for Cobden Primary School in Farnley to become part of the Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust.
A council report released today approved the completion of the Commercial Transfer Agreement (CTA) to enable Cobden Primary School to open as an academy on 1 September 2026.
The CTA deals with the transfer of the assets, staff, and contracts from the council and the governing body to the new Academy Trust.Â
Owlcotes MAT is a group of nine primary schools in Leeds, with a desire to provide excellent education and great outcomes for all pupils. Schools include Calverley Parkside, Pudsey Primrose Hill, Pudsey Waterloo and Armley Park.
The council received a direct academy order last October instructing that Cobden Primary School will be converted to an academy.
