Farnley Park play area remains closed due to vandalism

The kids’ play area in Farnley Park remains closed today – more than a week since vandals set fire to and destroyed a piece of play equipment.

The Dispatch understands the council is hoping to repair the damage and reopen the park this week.

One local resident, who asked not to be named, told The Dispatch:

“It’s disgusting – anti-social behaviour is becoming a big problem in Farnley, you can’t have anything. I think there should be a meeting with the council and the police at the community centre. We should invite everyone to discuss how we can all tackle the anti-social behaviour.”
