Emily Carlill from Kirkstall Valley Development Trust previews two events aiming to put the spotlight on pollution and the need for cleaner air and sustainable transport along the Kirkstall Valley.
On Saturday 19th June, we will be celebrating Clean Air Day to raise awareness and promote the importance of clean air in Kirkstall.
We have two events: one at our community hub at Unit 11, Kirkstall Bridge Retail Park, and another down at Kirkstall Valley Farm. We’d love for you to join us.
Clean Air Day is the UK’s largest air pollution campaign, engaging thousands of people at hundreds of events.
Down on the farm
At Kirkstall Valley Farm, we are welcoming families to our Clean Air Day family picnic – bring a picnic and join us in the fresh air for games, clean-air related crafts, stories and more! We are running two sessions: 11am-12.30pm and 1pm-2:30pm. Places are limited so please book (£3 per family). Book your place here.
Unit 11
We have a free event with a range of activities for you to come along to and get involved in including crafts for children and adults, and taking our e-bikes for a spin!
Bring along your own bikes to get some bike maintenance and tips.
We will also be launching our Craftivism group – a group where people can get together, socialise and create beautiful items to support well-being whilst inspiring and promoting positive changes in Kirkstall.
Come along to Unit 11 on Saturday 19th to find out more and how to get involved.
