The Anti Anxiety Workshop (Online)

January 14 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Science, Strategies & Success Stories

Fear is normal and a healthy part of what makes us human. However, in modern society, our worries can be triggered constantly, inducing a feeling of paralysis. In this enlightening workshop with Dr Jonathan Iliff, you will learn what anxiety is, what it does to your body, and how you can overcome it. We will establish the key differences between anxiety and anxiety disorders, and uncover the neuroscience behind this prevalent condition, such as the hormonal shifts it causes. Explore inspirational case studies from personal and professional life, and discover how they successfully beat anxiety. Dr Iliff will also provide additional practical tools and helpful mindsets to grapple with anxiety at its peak and reduce it in the long term. Most importantly, we will reflect on how the science and strategies help us in understanding our own minds and emotions in the journey towards growth.

Dr Jonathan Iliff is a psychiatrist and medical doctor in the NHS, with a background in neuroscience and psychedelic drug research. His research focused on the use of psychedelic compounds, like LSD and psilocybin – the active ingredient in magic mushrooms – a promising new treatment for depression. Today his focus is clinical – focusing on helping with people, and their problems in the here and now. His mission is to stoke conversation about health and mental health, change attitudes that persist in even the most tolerant parts of our society, and encourage innovation like the use of psychedelic drugs that aim to improve the lives of the billions of people that suffer directly and indirectly from mental health disorders.
