Environmental action day targets these Kirkstall streets

An environmental action day will help tidy the street sof parts of Kirkstall next week.

The day of action was requested by the Kirkstall Village Action Group and has been organised by Kirkstall’s councillors for next Tuesday, 13 April from 10am-4pm.

There will be two skips on Gilbert Close and Sandford Road during these hours, where residents can leave items free of charge. The councillors will be door knocking, with the police and anti social behaviour team in socially distanced pairs to see if there are any issues or concerns.

There will be a street sweeping van on the estate and councillors and the Cleaner Neighbourhoods Team will also be litter picking. Residents can meet at 10am at the playground if you want to help with this – litter pickers and bags will be provided.

All activities will be managed to ensure people are in pairs or groups of less than six and socially distanced.

Also taking part are the council’s Housing team, the police, the Cleaner Neighbourhoods Team and the Anti Social Behaviour Team.

West Leeds Dispatch is about to launch a West Leeds Spring Clean campaign to encourage more people to take a pride in their community. Keep your eyes peeled for more details!
