Community project’s new home provides support for Kirkstall and Burley communities

KIRKSTALL Valley Development Trust has moved into a new home to support the community as people face a difficult winter.

It has moved from Flexspace in Burley and is now open at St Stephen’s Church Hall, in Norman Street, Kirkstall.

KVDT chair Adele Rae said the move had already drawn lots of people through the doors, with heat cafes planned on Mondays and Wednesdays, 12-3pm.

There are also plans for lunch clubs for older people, in addition to the existing play facilities for youngsters.

“This is an opportunity to provide people with what they need,” said Adele.

“Our pre-school provision is so popular. We aim to put on what the community says it needs – for example we’ve got yoga sessions coming up.”

You can pop in for a coffee and cake at KVDT’s cafe.

More details of all the activities can be found at KVDT’s Facebook page.
