People who use Burley Park are being invited to the Friends of Burley Park’s bi-annual community meeting.
The Friends are a group of volunteers who run activities in the park and help champion it.
Members of the public are invited to join them at the Cardigan Community Centre on Tuesday, October 4 from 6.30pm to 8pm for their bi-annual meeting. And the volunteers say they would love to see as many people there as possible.
The Friends have also thanked Leeds City Council and Councillor Hannah Bithell (Lab, Kirkstall) for repairing and securing historic stone pillars at the Cardigan Lane entrance which were being vandalised, as reported by WLD last week.
A Friends spokesperson said on social media: “Not sure if this is the final result, but it is miles better than the previous huge chunks missing from the pillar and sends a message to would-be vandals that the community and council care about the park and don’t want to see it damaged.”
