Armley Helping Hands hosted volunteers, businesses and community partners at a special celebration to mark the exceptional contribution made to people’s lives in Leeds 12 over the pandemic period.

The evening, held at the Corn Mill Lodge Hotel on Pudsey Road on Monday, was a chance to celebrate community spirit, and ordinary people going above and beyond to help others in the community.

Armley Helping Hands’ board of trustees and team were on hand to say “thank you” for people’s support and kindness.

Helping Hands CEO Dawn Newsome said:

“Their commitment has been vital in helping us to deliver not only the Community Hub, in collaboration with Leeds City Council and Public Health Leeds, but also bespoke services to our older people, clinically vulnerable and families living in Leeds 12 through the pandemic.”

Awards were presented by Leeds Lord Mayor Councillor Asghar Khan, Cllr Lou Cunningham (Lab, Armley) and Cllr Ann Forsaith (Green, Farnley & Wortley).
